We restrict access of nonpublic personal information to those staff members that require it to carry out their business duties. We may share information when necessary to process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of our Credit Union, follow your instructions as you authorize, protect the security of our financial records, or as otherwise required by law. If you terminate your membership with Michigan Services Credit Union, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as permitted or required by law. Online Privacy The policy as stated above applies to use of our website www.mscu.org as well. Michigan Services Credit Union collects information from our online banking for statistical purposes. This includes such information as, but not limited to: user name, access time, email addresses, and failed log in attempts. Access to this information is kept secure and can only be accessed at the administrative level by credit union personnel using password security. Cookies: If you access our @yourService online banking you may notice our use of cookies. These cookies are temporary and allow you to navigate within the online banking. They are automatically deleted when you close your browser. No information is retained from your computer. Links: We may provide links to other websites. Security Statement Michigan Services Credit Union is constantly concerned about our member’s critical information and privacy. With this in mind, we have the following security services installed on our Internet server:
- Each server is behind a Firewall. This UNIX based hardware product blocks critical ports and IP addresses on servers from external attack and access. - Each server runs proprietary software that constantly monitors the servers for unauthorized use and attempts to "hack" into information. Administrators are contacted when forced attacks are committed, and countermeasures can be applied to stop these instances. - All administrative activity requires user login and authentication. All administrative updates are logged into files that can be reviewed later. - All servers come with a Global Verisign Certificate (RSA) for digitally encrypted communications between the Web server and our members. Information passed in applications cannot be decrypted by third parties attempting to "pick" information being passed across the Internet backbone. - All servers run the latest version of Apache Web Server, considered the strongest and most secure Web server software on the market. Disclosure Information Notice: Information sent by email is at risk of loss of confidentiality if the information is transmitted over the Internet.
